"I have felt an urge to pray the rosary"

Dear Father Phil,

I am a 32-year-old woman. I have a 3-1/2 month old baby boy, and have been married for a year and 2 months.

I grew up Lutheran, and joined the Quaker church about 7 years ago. I was married previously for 8 years to a man who was a youth director at a Lutheran Church.

After this short history, let me tell you why I'm emailing. For the past year, I have felt an urge to pray the rosary. I am not Catholic, and ever since my divorce from my first husband, have been feeling lost and wavering in my faith.

This urge to pray the Rosary has grown stronger recently. I even purchased Rosary beads. But I don't know what to make of this and would welcome any thoughts you might have!

Thank you in advance!

Dear Amy,

I encourage you to do so. You will receive a great peace. The word at the heart of the Hail Mary is "Jesus." You will find yourself drawn very closely to him by way of his loving mother. He gave her to all Christians when he hung on the cross. "Behold, your mother." Let me know how it goes.

My prayers for you, Amy. God bless,

Fr. Phil Bloom
